I chose a career in law enforcement because I wanted to make a difference—by serving, protecting, and standing for something greater     than myself.

My father was a veteran, and later served in a reserve officer role. My mother’s quiet strength and commitment to others left just as deep an impression. Their shared values—hard work, humility, and service—shaped who I am and how I lead.

I’ve called Lea County home since 1976. This is where I built my life, raised my family, and served throughout my adult years—both in and out of uniform. I understand what this community expects from the Sheriff’s Office:  accountability, dedication, and trust earned over time.

I’m not running to build a career—I already retired. I’m stepping forward again because this work still matters. Now more than ever, we need steady leadership grounded in purpose—not politics.

As your sheriff, I’ll uphold the Constitution, ensure that those entrusted with the badge are supported, respected, and held to the highest standards, and ensure our office reflects the highest standards of professionalism and public service. Leadership means showing up, listening well, and leaving things better than you found them.
